Jackson is 18 months old! I am beginning to realize he is not my baby anymore. He has learned so much in the past few months and he gets smarter and smarter every day. Here are some things Jackson has done recently:
When Jackson whines for something he can't have, we will tell him it is "all gone". So the other day I was using a bulb syringe to clean out his nose (which he hates) and when he thought I wasn't looking he took the bulb syringe and put it in his drawer. When I looked at him he told me "gone gone". He was so disappointed when he realized he hadn't fooled me!
I was reading Jackson some stories to get him ready for bed and Seth was watching the Jazz game. I took Jackson in the other room so he could wind down, but instead he climbed off my bed and said "Daddy, where are you?" He wasn't going to let Seth get away with missing story time!
He blows rasberries on your tummy!
He finally started walking at 17 months! And he has already taken off running!
The other day I was getting ready to go somewhere and I told Jackson we needed to get his shoes on and get in the car. I was gathering some stuff together for him and before I new it he had found his shoes and was sitting by the door trying to put them on!
Now when he plays with his basket ball hoop he says "shoot" when he shoots the ball!
He is really good at repeating a tune-he sings along with the theme song to Backyardigans, and has picked up on several tunes from the radio!
He went to his first week of nursery and hardly noticed mom and dad were gone!

Jackson with mom and dad before nursery!

He has most of his stories memorized and will fill in the words he knows when mom reads to him!

When dad has the game on he will run towards the screen and say "GO! GO! GO!"

He shakes his fist and says RAH! RAH! RAH! at the end of the BYU fight song!

He can sing "E-I-E-I-O" with Old MacDonald.

He has decided he doesn't like to take naps or sleep through the night anymore!

We got my parents a web cam for Christmas so they can talk to Jackson, and whenever the laptop is shut Jackson tries to look inside of it and says "Bumpa (grampa) where are you?"

Jackson loves to brush his teeth! He says "brush, brush" to ask for his toothbrush and he walks around with it scrubbing away!

We took Jackson to McDonald's playplace the other day so he climb and run and wear himself out. He loved it! He loves to watch big kids play!

Jackson loves to dip his food-no matter what it is!

daddy's boy

Seth set this little toy up for Jackson last night while I was at work (notice the duct tape :) and guess what Jackson wanted to do first thing when he woke up this morning! I think Seth is satisfied knowing all those hours of watching ESPN with Jackson as a baby have paid off...how do they learn so quick?

Christmas in AZ part 2

My pictures were kind of random this year, because I didn't take any of my own I just stole them from everyone else's camera. But anyway....

Jackson and mom at the temple lights

Happy Boy (when he has everybody's attention)

Christmas in AZ part 1

We spent Christmas in AZ again this year and we had a blast! Jackson, of course, was the center of attention 24/7 and Seth and I enjoyed some time to relax. Within the first 5 minutes of playing in the front yard, Jackson noticed the neighbors basketball hoop across the street. Seth got a major work out doing this nearly every day we were there!

I also got to spend some fun girl time with my old high school buddies while we were down there. We spent the whole day (and night) together catching up. We did lunch, pedi's, shopping and we went out for sushi that night for my birthday:
And it definitely wouldn't have been a party without Rock Band 'til 2:00 a.m.!
I love those girls!

Sadly, we had to leave AZ Christmas day because I had to work at 5! It was no fun to work Christmas/my birthday, so I definitely won't be doing that next year.

Early Christmas

Last night we had Christmas at the Stoker's since we will be in AZ for Christamas this year. It was great fun opening presents early! Unfortunately, Jackson got really sick yesterday afternoon and even threw up on our way up to the party, so he wasn't much fun opening presents-he practically slept through the whole thing! We all got great stuff-thanks so much Stoker family! I shot some video of Jackson enjoying one of his new toys this morning, now that he is feeling a little better. It didn't take him long to start saying "cars" once he got this new toy!

Santa

These are some pics of Jackson meeting Santa. It didn't quite go as I'd pictured, but I knew he might still be a little young this year! I was at least hoping to capture a cute pic, but of course I grabbed my camera and didn't realize the battery was dead! So, I had to rely on more prepared parents to take a pic for me and this is what I got. It didn't really matter anyway because I think Jackson was actually on Santa's lap for 2.3 seconds! He wouldn't let go of Seth's hand! And Santa didn't help any...he said "ok little guy, we'll talk more next year!"
I think Jackson would have warmed up after a minute or two, but Santa was impatient this year! Oh well. Santa's probably right....he and Jackson will talk more next year!

Country

For as long as I've known Seth (4 years!), one of his best friends Derek Hoke a.k.a "Country" has been up at Utah State playing football. Sadly, we never once made it up to one of his games-until last weekend! Yes, we headed up to Logan to watch Country play in his final Aggie game and luckily they won!

If we look freezing, it's because we were!

He's still single ladies! (the one on the left ;)
