Arizona Trip

Jackson and I enjoyed some fun in the sun this past week in AZ. It was so great to visit Grandma and Grandpa Woodbury and of course Jackson was so spoiled, playing with new toys, going to the zoo, shooting hoops, playing/scaring the bunny rabbit, and being the center of attention 24/7. It was a great break for me, too! I got to enjoy shopping without Jackson, making tons of headbands, and time to relax! We sure didn't want to leave...and I will definitely have to remember for next time NEVER to drive thru Las Vegas again! It took 3 hours to go just 15 miles across the Hoover Dam! Ridiculous, but we survived and had a great trip to make up for it!

The past month has flown by! Jackson and I have been trying to keep busy and wait out the winter cold! In February we found a great spot to have a winter play date-Kangaroo Zoo in Pleasant Grove! Jackson absolutely loves climbing, jumping, and bouncing around and I love that we have somewhere for him to release all of his energy rather than our living room! We have spent 2-3 mornings a week there for the last few weeks and Jackson has become a great climber-he is even fearless on the tallest slide...which has to be at least 50 ft tall! It is warm enough now to play at the park and hopefully it lasts!

Happy Valentines Day!

We have had a pretty great Valentines weekend so far, and I think the best part is we don't have work or school tomorrow! We spent most of the day Saturday making some much needed repairs around the house. I was so grateful that Seth and I were actually home at the same time long enough to get something done! Seth put up new shades on our windows and it was so cute because Jackson pulled out his toy tool box to "help" daddy with all the work!

While Seth was at the BYU basketball game, Jackson and I made some Valentines sugar cookies! He loved using the cookie cutters to cut out the dough and he especially loved pouring the candy sprinkles on the top! Too bad he poured about a 1/2 jar of sprinkles on each cookie! This is probably his favorite thing to do now. He is always asking, "Make cookies, mom?"

Saturday night, Seth and I had our Valentines date, which started out at the oh-so-yummy Rooster. We were so surprised we didn't have to wait to be seated on the night before Valentines. I guess we lucked out!

Seth surprised me with tickets to the "Healing Hands for Haiti" charity ball for the rest of our date. We headed over to the Marriott for a night of dancing and live entertainment. It was so much fun to get all dressed up and dance the night away. Seth and I used to love to go dancing when we were dating, but we realized this weekend that we probably haven't danced together since our wedding! What a great time. Plus we had the satisfaction of knowing it was for a good cause!

Since Valentines Day was on Sunday this year, we didn't do much but I did cook a really yummy dinner for my two Valentine Boys. I even made a special treat-crockpot cake-which is about the greatest thing ever. I pretty much love anyting I can make in my crock pot!

So far it has been a great weekend, and the best part has been spending 3 whole days in a row with my sweet little family with NO work and NO school! We need more weekends like this!

two very busy months worth of blogging available below :)

Girls Trip to Vegas

Last weekend a couple of my high school girlfriends and I met up in Las Vegas for a girls' trip. It was so much fun to get together! The trip got off to a rocky start when my flight was delayed 4 hours and theirs was cancelled due to weather problems...what are the odds that we book our trip on the same day there is a tornado warning in Phoenix? Figures. But we all eventually made it to our gorgeous room at The Bellagio hotel on the strip. And since we missed out on fun that evening, we ended up just staying up all night to catch up! The next day was filled with shopping, shopping, eating, and more shopping. I think we shopped 8 hours straight...maybe a record for me! We returned to our hotel room at got glammed up vegas style to go out that night. We went to "The Bank", which is a club in the Bellagio, for the chance to sneak a peak at a favorite celebrity of ours who was also at the club that night-L.C. from "the hills". We were so starstruck when she made her appearance. It was really nice to just go hang out and be silly, just like the old days, right girls? The next day we were pretty much exhausted so we were a little more low key with our shopping...and then it was already time to say goodbye! What a great weekend! Thanks girls!
