 New Year's Eve!

We had a great time in TX for Christmas and New Year's 2011. We got a little over a week of quality family time and it was so nice to get away from it all and relax! There was lots of card playing, eating, zumba dancing, basketball playing, and Jimmer watching! The trip took a turn for the worse for me when a couple of days after Christmas I came down with an awful stomach bug! Though it didn't take long for me to figure out my little 'bug' is going to be with me for the next 9 months!

Thanksgiving 2011

I was so excited to host my family at our house for Thanksgiving this year! It was A LOT  of work getting ready, but I learned a TON and I am proud to say I cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner from start to finish! I am totally using this experience as a personal progress value project! :) It was so much fun having my entire family come visit us in RR. We had a pretty low key weekend. We played a lot of SCUM, were introduced to German Pancakes (yum!), did a little Black Friday shopping (but nothing too crazy), attended a session at the Albuquerque temple, and enjoyed the kiddos. Lacey even got spoiled with more b-day presents from Grandma and Grandpa! Thanks to my family for making the trip-it was really kinda nice to stay home for once over the Holidays!

Baby girl turns 1!!

I can't believe my little sweetheart is already 1 year old! That first year went by way too fast and I can't believe how quickly she is learning and changing. Lacey is such a chatterbox already and I have a feeling she will easily rival her brother in chattiness as time goes on. She loves to crawl around the house during the day and say "Daaaaaaaaaadddddddddyyyyyyyy"-her new favorite person. Yes, it's true my sweet little mama's girl has a new favorite. She loves to play with dad and gets so excited when he comes home. She also LOVES  to play with her brother and be silly. She is such a goofball already and she will try anything to get us to laugh at her. She loves to climb and we have a hard time keeping her strapped in to her high chair, shopping, carts, strollers-just about anything. She is super limber and flexible and I can already tell she will make a great gymnast someday soon. She loves to listen to music and sing and dance. She is an excellent eater and already eats as much as her brother does at most meals! She recently graduated to crawling on all fours. She also recently cut down to one nap a day and thankfully sleeps a beautiful 12 hours at night. Unlike the rest of her family, she is a morning person and wakes up cheerful and bouncing at 7 am each day. She is such a joy in our home and we are so lucky to have our sweet Lacey girl as a part of our family!

St George

Last month, we took a quick trip to St George for Millie Jo's baby blessing. We had such a great time and we were especially excited to have an entire weekend all together as a family even though most of it was spent in the car! And of course we loved seeing our sweet new cousin Millie. We also got to see Aunt Dana, who drove down from Provo to spend the day with us on Saturday. It is always great to see family, we only wish we were closer to be able to have fun get togethers like that more often!

Halloween 2011

We had a Happy Halloween this year here in New Mexico. Jackson dressed up as Batman this year and he even got to wear his costume to school on Halloween! He and his class had a party for their parents on Halloween and Lacey and I got to go to his classroom to attend. He sure looked cute all dressed up! Lacey was a bunny rabbit for Halloween this year, although I had quite a hard time getting her to wear her bunny ears! I finally had to let her play with my camera and snap a few photos on my phone to distract her from playing with her fluffy ears. Jackson got to go trick or treating with daddy and our neighbors this year while I stayed home and handed out candy (and put baby girl to bed). To me the best part of Halloween is the mark of the beginning of the Holiday season!
